Platinum brand Food Grade Non-Toxic River Table (Cast 50mm / 2") Epoxy Resin. This is the highest quality, most perfectly clear resin, specially formulated for River Tables and deep casting, wood and resin combined art tables, crafts, accessories. The advantage of using this resin is that it has low heat, anti-yellowing, strong adhesion, good fluidity, natural de-foaming, and can be cast from a minimum thickness of 1 mm to a maximum thickness of 50 mm (2") with no requirement for the quantity of mixing. It can be ambient cured but will cure even better at a lab temperature of 25 deg C. (77 deg F) (please note: Most epoxies do not start to cure at below 10 deg C / 50 deg F). For a complete list of resins that are available? Please contact Platinum Epoxies.
Platinum brand River Table is a safe Resin is a 2:1 ratio by volume, water clear, virtually bubble free resin. It has incredible UV resistance (the best in the world).
Cast in one go up to 50 mm max (2"). easily and with perfect clarity! Finish the surface with our Platinum SuperCoat food grade, non toxic coating for a rock hard (shure 90D), high temperature (80 deg C /176 deg F) and mirror gloss finish (#92 gloss rating)!
Ideal Cure: At 25 deg C / 77 deg F, it has 1.5 hrs set time. Initial cure is 24 hours with mid cure 3 days. Final cure 10 days, but resin will cure above 10 deg C / 50 deg F up to 30 deg C /86 deg F.. (above 30 deg C /86 deg F, a reduction in maximum thickness of 45 mm is required)
No more doing layer after layer to get that crystal clear water finish. Now, simply mix and pour 1mm / 1/32" - 50mm / 2" thick without resin overheating.
This Platinum RiverTable deep cast Epoxy Resin can be used in so many casting applications including: — Jewelery, Furniture, Promotional Products, Trophies, Flower display, Artwork, Model Making, Set Designs, 'One Off' niche products etc. A quality multi purpose Epoxy Resin for all those volume use jobs - AND it contains no solvents whatsoever!
It is not important that this resin is used for volume casting only as it will cure properly on shallow casts (as little as 1 mm / 1/32" thick - that's something that very few other resins will do!).
Here are some tips for that ultimate result: In cold weather, heat the base resin up by placing the jugs in the sun or in hot water for a few hours before your cast (try to get close to 25 deg C / 77 deg F). This is also done so as to allow the chance for any entrapped air due to transport or the manufacturing process to rise.
Just look at some of the applications below and you will find that this is the ONE resin for your many casting projects and applications.:
* Furniture Manufacture - it has superior long working time, good cures times, easy to mix by volume and can be even be applied over most other brands of cured epoxies. When modified with fillers, tints and pigments, outstanding effects can result. We recommend a top-coat of our Platinum 2:1 360+ food grade, non-toxic series Epoxy Resin for a durable rock hard surface elevated temperature.
For smaller items? We would recommend our 2:1 ratio, Platinum HiTemp100 (available from our store) or our Platinum site.
* RiverTable Epoxy Resin is ideal for Cast Coffee Table applications, Decorative Front Doors, Boardroom Tables, Dining Tables, Boutique Restaurants- the list is endless, as this is the world standard for Water Clarity and extremely high UV resistance system.
Coverage: Obviously depends on volume required. Epoxy resins before mixing act a little like honey - in that in summer, they are very runny while in winter they are very stiff and so to thin the resin in winter? Then simply place in hot water.
Clean all brushes, rollers and tools with Acetone or even hot soapy water. Use protective gloves when working with this or any epoxy type product.
RiverTable Epoxy Resin has no strong detectable smell, it is always good practice to work in a well ventilated area, dust free environment, indoors or outdoors.
Mix this RiverTable Epoxy Resin in the ratio: 2 parts Resin to 1 part Hardener by VOLUME. If casting large volumes there are special techniques used by professionals to get their stunning results. This product has a long cure time at ambient temperature (Working time - initial set- 1 1/2 hrs at 25 deg C / 77 deg F. 40% humidity, with initial or ambient cure at 24 hrs and then mid cure 3 days with final cure at 10 days). Post cure could be needed at cooler temperature and high humidity - so try to avoid that post cure and cast the resin at above 10 deg C and ideally at 25 deg C. For those needing to post cure? The maximum increase in temperature to reach post cure temperature is 13 deg C per hour and a maximum cool off temperature is 25 deg C / 77 deg F per hour to prevent crystallisation. Post cure at 60 deg C / 140 deg F for 16 - 24 hours after ambient cure.
Mix correctly and follow web site mixing techniques. All these steps are designed to get the very highest quality results as this resin can give.

Please Note: As this product is a very pure epoxy. And it acts in a similar manner just like pure honey (pure epoxies act similar to honey in that, during winter, honey is extremely thick and yet in summer, that same honey is very thin and runny). So, to it is with epoxies. And just like pure honey which sometimes turns into sugar, pure Epoxy resin can act in a similar way and develop crystals (usually in part A). This is not from faulty resin, but common thought is that it is from the cyclic hot days and cold nights when stored. An easy fix is to heat the jugs up in very hot water for about 30 mins and this will restore the resin to be perfectly clear. That heating is also a good thing to help remove air bubbles trapped in the epoxy due to transportation.
If I have to do a critical pour or application, as a tip, I heat the jugs in near boiling water the day before the pour and let them cool down for the day of my pour. Additionally when mixing the two parts, I decant into the mixing container by pouring down the side of the container using the lower viscosity hardener first, followed by the base resin. All this effort is to try to limit any possible air bubbles that could ruin the finished product. Even when mixing, I use a wide rule and do not even take it off the bottom of the mixing container. Mixing is so important to get the best results and can take 3 mins.
